Want to join the Association that exists to serve the member-owned electric cooperatives in the three-state area. Thirteen co-ops in Virginia, one in Maryland and one in Delaware are members of The Virginia, Maryland & Delaware Association of Electric Cooperatives (VMDAEC). Electric cooperatives are consumer-owned, state-chartered electric utilities. The Association is the largest consumer organization in each of the three states.

Safety and Training Services Instructor

Virginia, Maryland & Delaware Association of Electric Cooperatives is seeking a Safety and Services Training Instructor to develop and present job training and safety programs for employees of member and non-member systems. The successful candidate will evaluate students trained and recommend ways to minimize total liability to employers. Position requires frequent overnight travel, some lifting and some long periods outdoors in all types of weather. The preferred candidate will have experience as a lineman and possess a knowledge of electric utility construction and maintenance practices, excellent presentation skills and proficiency with PowerPoint. Mobile Electrical Technician (2)

The Virginia, Maryland & Delaware Association of Electric Cooperatives is seeking two (2) Mobile Electrical Technicians to assist in dielectric and continuity testing of trucks and safety equipment used by power lineworkers throughout the tri-state area. The position requires the ability to legally operate a company vehicle and tow a mobile test lab. Frequent overnight travel is required, as well as lifting and long periods outdoors in all types of weather.

Preferred candidate will have a high school diploma or GED and may be a lineworker student or a recent graduate from an approved lineworker school. This is an entry level position but has the opportunity for the right hardworking person, through on-the-job and classroom training, to grow into a senior-level position within the organization.
