Several Virginia electric cooperatives were recognized Jan. 24 for their outstanding achievements in supporting ACRE, the Action Committee for Rural Electrification, which is the arm of cooperatives that advocates for policies and candidates at a federal level to benefit co-ops and their members.
ACRE raises personal, voluntary contributions only from NRECA’s eligible membership, and is considered nonpartisan. The emphasis on the awards, presented at the VMD Association board meeting, was on participation from managers, directors and spouses.
