Firefly Fiber Broadband\, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Central Virginia Electric Cooperative (CVEC), was recognized by Touchstone Energy for ranking #2 nationally and #1 in Virginia for customer satisfaction based on its 2023 ACSI broadband survey results.
Firefly tied for second place with an impressive satisfaction score of 90, scoring 24 points above the average score for brands categorized as internet service providers.*
“This is quite an accomplishment for a company that is five years young,” said Firefly & CVEC President & CEO, Gary Wood. “Our team is doing an incredible job of transforming lives and exceeding expectations for our rural customers in central Virginia.”
Firefly celebrated its fifth birthday in July and announced the milestone of 25,000 internet connections in November 2023.
Fiber construction to all 39,000 CVEC members concluded last year. The Firefly team is pressing ahead with its Regional Internet Service Expansion (RISE) project, which brings bold new growth and expansion. Through partnership with Rappahannock Electric Cooperative, Dominion Energy, and 13 counties, the RISE project will bridge the digital divide by bringing lightning-fast internet to an additional 45,000 unserved and underserved homes and businesses. Firefly is committed to offering the same level of customer service and support to these new project areas.
