More than 20 participants from VMD member cooperatives participated in an Accident Investigation Seminar at the VMD Training Center in Palmyra on April 26. Federated Rural Electric Insurance Regulatory Compliance and Resource Coordinator Angelea Meyer led students through several accident scenarios. Topics included were preparation, equipment needed and reporting procedures.

Many participants returned for the second day of training — the Safety Professionals Seminar, which included a presentation from Meyer on preparing for an accident, updates about new regulations from Virginia 811, an introduction to Hendrix vice-top insulator by Utility Sales Associates, a discussion about new safety features and innovative tools for the industry led by Milwaukee Tool, and an interactive demonstration featuring the Pike Corporation’s virtual reality training.

Thank you to the VMDAEC associate members and partners for supporting this event.
