ODEC and its member distribution cooperatives believe in the importance of ensuring their community partners are prepared for encounters with electric vehicles when responding to emergency calls.
In December, ODEC worked with Safety and Security Consultation Specialists LLC to provide educational training sessions for volunteer fire departments, including EV crash and fire response, shutting down and disabling an EV and emergency responder safety. Sessions took place at Powhatan Volunteer Fire Department, Boydton Volunteer Fire Department and North Halifax Volunteer Fire Department.
