Mecklenburg Electric Cooperative recently hosted a hot dog lunch to reward the highest achievers in the Accelerated Reader program at Chase City Elementary School. John C. Lee Jr., MEC president and CEO, addressed the approximately 100 students in attendance, emphasizing the necessity for good reading skills in every profession and encouraging them to continue in the AR program. After lunch, students got to talk to lineworkers about what they do. At the end of the program, each student was recognized and received a special gift.
