Shenandoah Valley Electric Cooperative welcomed Tom Dodson as manager of member services on April 29.
Dodson brings more than 30 years of experience in customer service, mostly from serving as president and vice president of operations at RWS Enterprises Restaurant Group. RWS managed 13 Country Cookin’ restaurants around Virginia. After the company dissolved following the pandemic, Dodson was the director of operations for Ulrich, a shed and small structure manufacturer formerly known as Byler Barns in the Shenandoah Valley.
When faced with the option of relocating for his job to Fort Worth, Texas, he elected to stay in Virginia. The perfect opportunity came at SVEC, where Dodson can also pay homage to his father, Richard, a former lead lineman and foreman with Rappahannock Electric Cooperative.
“Tom brings leadership expertise to SVEC, along with extensive knowledge in internal operations and member service teams, external partners and regulatory oversight,” said Tony Dean, the cooperative’s vice president of operations.
A Madison County native, Dodson lives in Weyers Cave with his wife, Kim, and the youngest of their five children.
