Lancaster County Schools administrator Mary Catherine Jones has joined Northern Neck Electric Cooperative’s board of directors. Jones was appointed to the board in November to serve members who live in Northumberland County.

NNEC Board Chairman Hunter Greenlaw Jr. said, “Mary Catherine Jones is a great fit for the NNEC board. Her passion for the cooperative model and history of serving her community will be a great asset to the boardroom as we strive to make decisions that best serve our membership.”

Jones is an educator and administrator for Lancaster County Public Schools. NNEC’s newest board director is the assistant principal at Lancaster High School. She is also a licensed behavioral analyst. She holds degrees from the University of Virginia, Mary Baldwin University and Old Dominion University. She also holds several Virginia postgraduate professional licenses and a Superintendent’s License from the Virginia Department of Education

She is looking forward to representing NNEC members by serving on the board. “As a proud member of the cooperative, I have always been impressed with NNEC’s service and its mission to improving the quality of life in its communities. I am humbled to have been appointed to this important position and will work hard to help the cooperative maintain its excellence in member satisfaction and its efforts to provide affordable, reliable and safe power,” said Jones.

Jones has an extensive history of service to her professional communities and service in her community. She is active with the Virginia Department of Education’s Aspiring Special Education Leaders Academy, the Virginia Association of Behavioral Analysis and the Virginia Association of Secondary School Principals. She is also a member of Coan Baptist Church in Heathsville, Va.
