The Virginia, Maryland & Delaware Association of Electric Cooperatives welcomes three new employees to its co-op family.

Effective Nov. 21, Rachael Freeman joins the Association as the safety and training coordinator. She’ll provide administrative support to the Safety and Training department while maintaining relationships with member co-ops’ system and training coordinators.

Rachael lives in Louisa, Va., with her husband, Clay, and has three sons, Chase, Haden and Cameron. She looks forward to bringing her strong organizational and interpersonal skills to the Association and its training centers as interest in the programs continues to grow.

David “Maxie” Rozell brings 37 years of cooperative experience to the Association following a fulfilling career with Rappahannock Electric Cooperative, where he most recently served as managing director at the co-op’s Bowling Green district office. Now retired, he joins VMDAEC as a part-time safety instructor. Maxie will conduct job site observations and safety training at member co-ops.

Maxie lives in Ruther Glen, Va., with his wife, Crystal. They have two adult children and four grandchildren.

Sonja Kinney is a career salesperson with an extensive background in media sales. She began her career at the Richmond Times, where she sold classified advertising for 10 years. She continued magazine advertising sales at Douglas Publications where she spent 5 years until they relocated out of Richmond. Following that she spent 10 years at both the Apartment Guide and For Rent magazines selling print and digital advertising.

Sonja now says she looks forward to working with VMDAEC and Cooperative Living magazine, growing advertising revenues with print and online sales.
