Congratulations are in order for Amanda S. Creasey, the outdoors writer for Cooperative Living magazine.

Two of the pieces she authored for Cooperative Living have been recognized in the Virginia Outdoor Writers Association Excellence-in-Craft contest. “The Longest Yards,” about the ultramarathon in Farmville, earned First Place Column.

“Appalachia’s Greatest Conservation Story,” about the elk in Breaks Interstate Park, earned the Fly Fishers of Virginia Conservation Award.

The magazine has received more than a dozen awards in the last year for excellence in writing and design. “Amanda’s pieces have added an active lifestyle component to our pages,” said editor Steven Johnson. ” Our readers appreciate her ability to set a scene and guide readers through her outdoor adventures.”
