CO-OP PAC, the Community Owned Power PAC, was launched at the 2022 VMDAEC annual meeting at the Omni Homestead Resort in Hot Springs, Va. The rebranding of ACRE-Virginia as CO-OP PAC will enable legislators and candidates for political office to better associate CO-OP PAC with the cooperative identity.
“The rebranding of ACRE to CO-OP PAC is a great opportunity to remind folks that co-ops are owned by those they serve and that our PAC is funded by our employees — the men and women who work tirelessly to keep the lights on across the commonwealth of Virginia,” said Sadie Gary, Director of Government Affairs at the Virginia, Maryland and Delaware Association of Electric Cooperatives.
The new PAC and rebranding initiative can be seen at co-oppacva.org. Your cooperative’s legislative liaisons will have access to promotional materials and co-branded resources to use for your cooperative’s CO-OP PAC fundraising campaign. In an additional modernization, the new state PAC also accepts online credit card contributions. Those can be made by visiting the website or by simply pointing your phone’s camera at the QR code and following the link.
