Recently, Powell Valley Electric Cooperative General Manager Brad Coppock joined more than 25 other new co-op leaders for an informative orientation at the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association in Arlington, Va.
The group participated in presentations from the National Rural Utilities Cooperative Finance Corp., Federated Rural Electric Insurance and National Rural Telecommunications Cooperative.
“New CEO orientation was a great opportunity to meet the leadership teams of the national organizations that support our electric cooperatives and have in-depth discussions regarding the many challenges facing our electric industry today,” said Coppock.
“I believe the opportunity to build relationships and network with nearly 40 new managers across the U.S. was invaluable; and, I believe it allowed us to breathe a sigh of relief knowing we’re all going through similar growing pains in our new positions,” he said.
Coppock left the orientation with a renewed sense of purpose in his role as manager and looks forward to reconnecting with peers at national meetings.
